RailModeller Pro 6.6: New Customization Options and Workflow Improvements
The update to RailModeller Pro 6.6 is now available.
This release adds new customization options and workflow improvements across layout and baseboard editing, label customization and 3D visualization. Highlights of the new version include:
- Enhanced Element Label Customization
Control how element labels appear in your layouts with new styling options. Add background fills for better readability, apply outlines for contrast, rotate labels to align with angled tracks, and adjust height label positioning. - Reorganized Menu Structure
Finding the right command is now more intuitive with our streamlined menu organization. Layout-level operations like mirroring, auto-colorizing, and baseboard management have moved from the File menu into a dedicated Layout menu. Baseboard-specific commands including rotation, mirroring, ordering, and dimension display are now consolidated in a new Baseboard menu where you'd naturally expect to find them. - Improved Part List and Search
A refreshed Part List dialog now includes improved previews, a new alias column, and a contextual Add to Stock command. Part List CSV exports can now include header row and index column.
The Find Elements feature now supports search specifically by name, alias, description, or library, and includes model scale filtering for more targeted results. - Direct Height and Grade Entry
A new Track Height/Grade Entry dialog lets you enter or edit height and gradient values directly, providing more precise control over elevation changes in your layout. - Shrink to Fit with Configurable Margin
Eliminate empty canvas space around your layout content. The enhanced Shrink to Fit with Margin command now lets you specify how much padding to preserve when resizing the canvas. - Enhanced 3D View Controls
New visibility toggles in the 3D Settings Inspector allow control of bumpers, tunnel portals, track marks, and baseboards. Additional improvements include better lighting, more texture options, and visual refinements for track elements.
Other improvements in this update include
- Release history now accessible from the Welcome window via the “What’s New” link
- CSV exports of the Stock can include header rows and additional columns
- Apply Default Color to Layer Elements function added to the Layer menu
- JMRI export now supports triple turnouts
- Enhanced file handling for better cleanup of temporary files
- Updated user guide
