RailModeller Pro 5.4: Localized Libraries, multi-color and scalable elements

2017-10-26 06:00

RailModeller Pro 5.4 is now available on the Mac App Store introducing improved and new track libraries.

For this update we have revised all of our more than 200 track libraries bundled with the app and upgraded them to a new, extended format enabling many new features, including:

  • Fully localized library names and element descriptions
All 6000+ elements now come with native descriptions in English and German with further translations added down the road. Existing layouts will be upgraded automatically to use the localized descriptions.

  • Scalable libraries for all model scales
Our new TruScale libraries automatically adapt elements to any model scale. The libraries including accessories like houses, cars, plants and railway signs can be used in any model scale. Elements are scaled automatically to the appropriate size for the layout. More TruScale libraries will be added in the coming months.

  • Multi-Color elements
Libraries can now contain elements with multiple colors allowing elements to be easily identified - think railway crossings, semaphore and light signals, accessories - as well as enabling you to create visually compelling layouts.

These are just some of the features made possible by our new libraries. A number of additional changes will be unlocked in the coming months as we take full advantage of our 'smarter' libraries to drive exciting, new features in our track planning apps.

We're also planning to make our new library editor available to all users at a later point enabling you to create your own libraries - and share them instantaneously with the entire user community directly from within the editor!

RailModeller Pro 5.4 requires macOS (OS X) 10.10 or newer and is available exclusively on the Mac App Store.

RailModeller Pro 5.3.7 adding custom display format for grades

2017-06-27 19:30

The latest update to RailModeller Pro 5.3.7 extends the app with an option to select the way grades are displayed - and entered - throughout the app in order to cater for regional preferences: Grades can be shown in per mille (commonly used in Europe), as a percentage (often used in the U.S.) and as a ratio (generally used in Australia and the UK).

The grade display format can be selected in the application's preferences similarly to how the unit system can already be customized to show either metric or imperial units.

This update also improves working with graded track sections: When connecting tracks with existing grades the app no longer removes the grade but simply shifts the tracks to match the height of the target track they're connected to, keeping the grade.

Changes in the latest update also include a number of general enhancements to the app and updated libraries for the library catalog of 250+ bundled track libraries containing templates for more than 6000 elements.
